New ISAF Classes
The announcement of the winners of the ISAF Rolex World Sailors of the Year wasn't the only business on the agenda at this year's ISAF Annual Conference. Senegal and Vanuatu become full ISAF members and Georgia and Oman Associate Members. Of particular interest to the rest of us, who may or may not race, some new one design classes have been officially recognized. They are:

* Splash (International Class)
* Access 2.3 (International Class)
* RS:X (Recognized Class)
* Techno 293 (Recognized Class)
* RS Feva (Recognized Class)
* Access 303 (Recognized Class)
* Platu 25 (Recognized Class) and
* Swan 45 (Recognized Class)

That last is good news for Swan 45-ers, as they will now be able to compete in the first-ever Swan 45 World Championship (during Acura Key West 2006 [January 14-20, 2006]). Smallest of the Swans, the 45 has gained an enthusiastic following in its 5-year history - with good reason. It's a clean-lined luxury cruiser that races like a dream; check the specs and drawings out for yourself at the Nautor's Swan website.
