3. RULES
The current Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2005-2008, the SCIRA Rules of Conduct for Conducting National and International Championships Regattas, the Deed of Gift for the Vieri Lasinio Di Castelvero Trophy, the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions shall be in effect.
In case of conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instruction the Sailing Instructions shall prevail.
4. ADVERTISING:
This regatta is classified as Category “C” in accordance with the ISAF and SCIRA Advertising Prescriptions.
5. ENTRY AND ELIGIBILITY
This regatta is open to SCIRA registered boats, skippers and crews in good standing for the current year subject to Deed of Gift for the Vieri Lasinio Di Castelvero Trophy restrictions
6. REGISTRATION
The completed entry form and the registration fee of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00) must be received no later than Saturday, August 13th, 2005. The entry fee will cover the entry and festivities for the skipper and the crew.
All competitors must complete the entry process prior to 18.00, Saturday August 13th, 2005. No boat’s entry will be complete until it has checked in with Registration, all forms are received and all fees are paid.
7. SCHEDULE
Registration and check-in will be in the Sailing Department of the Iate Clube Rio de Janeiro, on August 13th, 2005 from 09.30 to 18.00.

8. MESUREMENT
8.1 Measurement is scheduled for Friday 12th through Saturday 13th August, 2005 from 09.30 – 18.00.
8.2 All boats will be weighed and measured according to SCIRA Rules and inspected for safety equipment and decals. All sails will be measured. A maximum of two (2) suits of sails will be measured for any entry.
8.3 All boats are subject to additional measurement at any time at the reasonable discretion of the Class or Race Committee.
9. BOATS
9.1 A total of 15 (fifteen) similar boats will be provided by the organization for those juniors not bringing or chartering their own boats.
9.2 A Committee composed by the Commodore, the National Secretary of Brazil, the Official SCIRA Measurer for the event, plus other 2 (two) representatives of the other Countries participating of the event may decide by majority of votes the application of the criteria that the event shall be sailed as a round robin as per “Deed of Gift”.
9.3 Boats will be available by 09.00 Wednesday, August 12th, 2005 or earlier at the owner’s choice.
10. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The regatta Sailing Instructions (SI) will be available at registration.
11. COURSES
The course to be sailed are the Class approved courses for International regattas as published in the current SCIRA Official Rulebook and SCIRA web site.
12. SCORING
12.1 The SCIRA Low Point scoring system will apply.
12.2 Three (3) races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
12.3 The Race Committee shall attempt to complete eleven (11) races
12.4 When from six (6) to eight (8) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst score. If 9 (nine) or more races are completed a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her 2 (two) worst scores. If 5 or fewer races are completed, all shall be counted.
13. SUPPORT BOATS:
Support boats shall be credit to Organizing Committee that will assign an identification flag.
14. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
15. PRIZES
15.1 Vieri Lasinio Di Castelvero Trophy for the boat winning the Regatta.
15.2 Prizes will be awarded to the skipper and crew of the boats finishing first through fifth (1-5) in the Regatta.
16. HOSPITALITY AND SOCIAL
Local hotels within a short walking or driving distance of the Club are also be available. For additional information contact SLALOM TURISMO (Ms. Regina Pecego - regina@slalom-tour.com)
The authority organized will provide lodging and food to the first crew of each country , and if possible, for the second crew.
