..alla partenza aveva rotto il genoa in testa e, tempo di sostituire la vela (equivalente x superficie ad un mezzo-campo di calcio) era stato rullato ai Needles da Leopard, unico abbastanza bestione da poterlo impensierire.. poi via a sgommare nel Solent, forte dei suoi cento piedoni, attorno al Fastnet e ritorno..
..e al Fastnet ci è arrivato, in una tipica giornata estiva, Rambler..
..ci è arrivato, e poi ci è rimasto..
..nel senso che ha perso bulbo e chiglia, e si è girato..
..comunque tutto a posto: alcuni sono riusciti a salire sullo scafo girato, altri sulle zattere, altri a mollo sono stati raccolti dai battelli di soccorso, tipo..
..da una nave della marina irlandese, da altre barche in regata..

The hull went turtle very quickly.
The EPIRBs activated
16 managed to get up onto the bottom of the boat
5 got into liferafts.
The Irish Coast Guard put in place the rescue plan
RNLI Baltimore Lifeboat put to sea and picked up the 16 from the hull
Anther boat picked up the rest of the crew from liferafts
One crew has been airlifted to hospital with severe hypothermia, but is expected to make a swift recovery
The hull was still afloat, but turtle when they left.
All crew, bar one, are now ashore in Baltimore Sailing Club getting hot showers
The club members and local population are looking for clothes for them and steaks and a hearty meal await them in the village tonight.
Pints of Guinness are possibly going to be available.

The emergency services did a great job and everything that could be done was done exceedingly well.
16 crew taken from the up turned yacht - 5 taken from a life raft by another yacht. Le Ciara (Irish Navy) on standby at the scene. Army transport on standby in Cork if needed. More info as we get it..
